Chapter 7

1 Then Elisha477 said,559 Hear8085 ye the word1697 of the LORD;3068 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 Tomorrow4279 about this time6256 shall a measure5429 of fine flour5560 be sold for a shekel,8255 and two measures5429 of barley8184 for a shekel,8255 in the gate8179 of Samaria.8111

2 Then a lord7991 on5921 whose834 hand3027 the king4428 leaned8172 answered6030 853 the man376 of God,430 and said,559 Behold,2009 if the LORD3068 would make6213 windows699 in heaven,8064 might this2088 thing1697 be?1961 And he said,559 Behold,2009 thou shalt see7200 it with thine eyes,5869 but shalt not3808 eat398 thereof.4480 8033

3 And there were1961 four702 leprous6879 men376 at the entering in6607 of the gate:8179 and they said559 one376 to413 another,7453 Why4100 sit3427 we587 here6311 until5704 we die?4191

4 If518 we say,559 We will enter935 into the city,5892 then the famine7458 is in the city,5892 and we shall die4191 there:8033 and if518 we sit3427 still here,6311 we die4191 also. Now6258 therefore come,1980 and let us fall5307 unto413 the host4264 of the Syrians:758 if518 they save us alive,2421 we shall live;2421 and if518 they kill4191 us, we shall but die.4191

5 And they rose up6965 in the twilight,5399 to go935 unto413 the camp4264 of the Syrians:758 and when they were come935 to5704 the uttermost part7097 of the camp4264 of Syria,758 behold,2009 there was no369 man376 there.8033

6 For the Lord136 had made853 the host4264 of the Syrians758 to hear8085 a noise6963 of chariots,7393 and a noise6963 of horses,5483 even the noise6963 of a great1419 host:2428 and they said559 one376 to413 another,251 Lo,2009 the king4428 of Israel3478 hath hired7936 against5921 us853 the kings4428 of the Hittites,2850 and the kings4428 of the Egyptians,4714 to come935 upon5921 us.

7 Wherefore they arose6965 and fled5127 in the twilight,5399 and left5800 853 their tents,168 and their horses,5483 and their asses,2543 even the camp4264 as834 it1931 was, and fled5127 for413 their life.5315

8 And when these428 lepers6879 came935 to5704 the uttermost part7097 of the camp,4264 they went935 into413 one259 tent,168 and did eat398 and drink,8354 and carried5375 thence4480 8033 silver,3701 and gold,2091 and raiment,899 and went1980 and hid2934 it; and came again,7725 and entered935 into413 another312 tent,168 and carried5375 thence4480 8033 also, and went1980 and hid2934 it.

9 Then they said559 one376 to413 another,7453 We587 do6213 not3808 well:3651 this2088 day3117 is a day3117 of good tidings,1309 and we587 hold our peace:2814 if we tarry2442 till5704 the morning1242 light,216 some mischief5771 will come upon4672 us: now6258 therefore come,1980 that we may go935 and tell5046 the king's4428 household.1004

10 So they came935 and called7121 unto413 the porter7778 of the city:5892 and they told5046 them, saying,559 We came935 to413 the camp4264 of the Syrians,758 and, behold,2009 there was no369 man376 there,8033 neither voice6963 of man,120 but3588 518 horses5483 tied,631 and asses2543 tied,631 and the tents168 as834 they1992 were.

11 And he called7121 the porters;7778 and they told5046 it to the king's4428 house1004 within.6441

12 And the king4428 arose6965 in the night,3915 and said559 unto413 his servants,5650 I will now4994 show5046 you853 what834 the Syrians758 have done6213 to us. They know3045 that3588 we587 be hungry;7457 therefore are they gone out3318 of4480 the camp4264 to hide themselves2247 in the field,7704 saying,559 When3588 they come out3318 of4480 the city,5892 we shall catch8610 them alive,2416 and get935 into413 the city.5892

13 And one259 of his servants4480 5650 answered6030 and said,559 Let some take,3947 I pray thee,4994 five2568 of4480 the horses5483 that remain,7604 which834 are left7604 in the city, (behold,2009 they are as all3605 the multitude1995 of Israel3478 that834 are left7604 in it: behold,2009 I say, they are even as all3605 the multitude1995 of the Israelites3478 that834 are consumed: )8552 and let us send7971 and see.7200

14 They took3947 therefore two8147 chariot7393 horses;5483 and the king4428 sent7971 after310 the host4264 of the Syrians,758 saying,559 Go1980 and see.7200

15 And they went1980 after310 them unto5704 Jordan:3383 and, lo,2009 all3605 the way1870 was full4392 of garments899 and vessels,3627 which834 the Syrians758 had cast away7993 in their haste.2648 And the messengers4397 returned,7725 and told5046 the king.4428

16 And the people5971 went out,3318 and spoiled962 853 the tents4264 of the Syrians.758 So a measure5429 of fine flour5560 was1961 sold for a shekel,8255 and two measures5429 of barley8184 for a shekel,8255 according to the word1697 of the LORD.3068

17 And the king4428 appointed6485 853 the lord7991 on5921 whose834 hand3027 he leaned8172 to have the charge of5921 the gate:8179 and the people5971 trod upon7429 him in the gate,8179 and he died,4191 as834 the man376 of God430 had said,1696 who834 spoke1696 when the king4428 came down3381 to413 him.

18 And it came to pass1961 as the man376 of God430 had spoken1696 to413 the king,4428 saying,559 Two measures5429 of barley8184 for a shekel,8255 and a measure5429 of fine flour5560 for a shekel,8255 shall be1961 tomorrow4279 about this time6256 in the gate8179 of Samaria: 8111

3 У городских ворот находились четверо прокажённых. Они сказали друг другу: «Почему мы сидим здесь, ожидая смерти?

4 В Самарии нет еды. Если мы пойдём в город, мы умрём там. Если мы останемся здесь, мы тоже умрём. Давайте пойдём в сирийский лагерь. Если сирийцы оставят нас в живых, мы будем жить, если же они нас убьют, то мы спокойно примем смерть».

5 И вечером они пошли в сирийский лагерь. Они подошли к краю лагеря, но там не было ни одного человека!

6 Господь сделал так, чтобы сирийскому войску послышался стук колесниц, шум коней и большого войска. Тогда они сказали друг другу: «Израильский царь нанял хеттейских и египетских царей, чтобы напасть на нас!»

7 Они встали и побежали в сумерках, спасая жизни, оставив шатры, коней, ослов и весь лагерь таким, каким он был.

8 Когда те прокажённые пришли к краю лагеря, они зашли в один из шатров и стали есть и пить. Затем они забрали оттуда серебро, золото и одежды, вынесли всё это из лагеря и спрятали. Потом они вернулись и зашли в другой шатёр. Там они тоже взяли вещи, унесли их и спрятали.

9 И сказали они друг другу: «Мы поступаем неправедно! Сегодня у нас есть хорошие новости, а мы молчим. Если мы будем дожидаться рассвета, то будем наказаны. Давайте пойдём и расскажем обо всём в царском дворце».

10 Прокажённые пришли и, позвав городского привратника, сказали ему: «Мы ходили в сирийский лагерь, но там нет ни единого человека, а кони и ослы всё ещё привязаны, и шатры стоят, как стояли».

11 Затем привратники прокричали новость, и её передали в царские палаты.

12 Царь встал ночью и сказал своим слугам: «Я скажу вам, что сирийцы задумали. Зная, что мы голодаем, они оставили лагерь, чтобы спрятаться в поле. Они думают: „Когда израильтяне выйдут из города, мы захватим их живыми и зайдём в город”».

18 Елисей сказал: «Завтра в это время у ворот Самарии мера лучшей муки или две меры ячменя будут стоить 1 шекель».

19 Но тот слуга ответил тогда Божьему человеку: «Даже если Господь сделает окна в небесах, и тогда этого не случится!» И Елисей ответил: «Ты увидишь всё это своими глазами, но ничего из этого ты есть не будешь!»

20 Всё так и случилось с ним: народ насмерть затоптал его в воротах.

17 Царь назначил одного из своих приближённых слуг охранять городские ворота, но народ сбил его с ног и растоптал насмерть. Всё произошло так, как предсказал Божий человек, когда царь приходил к нему в дом.
